Arrghhh Matey!

Treasures Abound at the University Libraries Fall Open House on Tuesday, September 18 and Wednesday, September 19, 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. This once-a-year event at all University Park Libraries (Pattee, Paterno, Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Earth and Mineral Sciences, Engineering, and Physical and Mathematical Sciences Libraries) bring more than 5,000 students into the Penn State University Libraries during a two-day party–in what has become an annual freshman ritual.
Since its inception in fall 2001, more than 25,000 students have attended this positive, fun event that familiarizes students with the facilities‚ layout and the helpful faculty and staff. When papers are due, students then have a head start on learning how to efficiently access the library resources they need.
This year students have the opportunity to win many donated prizes and giveaways, including personal lunches with President Spanier and Libraries' Dean Nancy Eaton, a football autographed by Joe Paterno, and much more.
The event is free and open to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. For more information, contact the Library Learning Services at 814-865-9257 or visit http://www.libraries.psu.edu/openhouse.
