Nancy Henry

Faced with critical health decisions, many people need reliable information on biomedical terminology and healthcare options. This "edition" of the Alumni Library delivers a compendium of useful healthcare resources, selected by Penn State Health Sciences Librarian Nancy Henry.

Henry led a team of experts from Penn State's University Libraries to select the healthcare resources that meet a wide spectrum of health-information needs. Links include MedlinePlus, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Merck Manual, Kidshealth, and more.

Lee Stout

Curious about that piece of Penn State’s past you’ve come upon? “Penn State Lore” is an opportunity to share that item with your fellow Alumni and to find out some more about it.

Lee Stout, head of Public Services and Outreach for Special Collections and former University Archivist, provides some historical background about both the object and its place in Penn State history.

Stout ’69, ‘72g and a life member of the Alumni Association has been a student of Penn State history since the 1970s.  He writes the monthly “Penn State Diary” column for Town & Gown Magazine and is a regular resource for the staff of The Penn Stater.

Jeff Knapp

Jeff Knapp, reference and instruction librarian at Penn State Altoona, comes from a Penn State family. Growing up in New Jersey, Knapp, along with his father and brother ('62 and '87, respectively) would sometimes turn the TV antenna on the roof toward Philadelphia in hopes of tuning in a Penn State game that was not being carried by the local New York City stations. Knapp '89, is a Life Member of the Alumni Association and as a librarian, considers "being interested in everything" as a professional duty.

Debora Cheney

Debora Cheney serves as the Larry and Ellen Foster Communications Librarian and Head of The News and Microforms Library.  She has worked to improve access to a wide range of newspaper and news sources for Penn State students and alumni.  As news formats change and converge and as electronic sources complement traditional sources, Libraries must seek out new ways to provide access to this complex news environment. The News Center provides access to a variety of newspaper content for Penn State alumni.
